General Class Policies
To register for a class online, simply add it to your cart and check out as normal. Or call 860-619-0042 (have a credit card handy). Please refer to the class description page for a supplies list and/or homework (when applicable). We will be adding classes frequently, so be sure to check our calendar often.
To register for a class: You are welcome to either register online, call us at (860) 619-0042, or stop by the shop. Payment is required at the time of registration. A 48-hour cancellation policy is in effect for classes. No refunds will be issued if you must cancel within this time period. Guest teacher workshops have a no-refund policy. If we must cancel a class, Stars Hollow Yarns will issue a full refund. If materials are included in the cost of a class, it will be noted in the class description page.
Class Etiquette: Please give yourself plenty of time to acquire your materials prior to your class. Classes begin promptly at their scheduled time and some of our classes may end when the store closes. We want everyone to get the most out of our classes, so please be aware that if you are running behind, it is unlikely we will be able to get you caught up while still giving everyone else in your class the attention they deserve.
Cancellations: Class participation must be canceled no less than 48 hours prior to class in order to receive a class credit. If you do need to cancel, please email email@example.com or call us at 860-619-0042. However, if you can’t make a class at the last minute, you are certainly welcome to send someone in your place. Just let us know whom to expect!
Class Credits: Due to the very limited enrollment in our classes and the special nature of our workshops, classes/workshops are non-refundable. We do not offer makeups for missed sessions. If you let us know at least 48 hours in advance, we would be happy to transfer you to another class of your choosing, or provide you with a Stars Hollow Yarns class credit. Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with any class cancellation requests. A reply email will have your credit attached.
Guest Artist Workshops: We do not offer class credits for classes with special guest instructors and artists. You may transfer your seat to a friend if you are unable to attend yourself.
Minimum Enrollment: 50% enrollment is required for most classes to meet (details are in the class description). For classes with a maximum of 5 students, 2 are required for the class to run. If a class is not 50% full by 10am on the day of the class, we will remove the class from the calendar, contact the person enrolled and issue a full refund. Minimum enrollment does not apply to our Kids series of classes.
Class materials: Most of our class fees include patterns, but do not include yarn, notions and supplies. Please check the class description for a complete list of required materials.
Class discounts: We offer 10% off all supplies purchased for use in our classes, so feel free to stop in ahead of your class to prepare and ask for any guidance you may need.
Class cancellations due to weather: While we make every effort not to close due to weather, we also want to be mindful not to put anyone's safety at risk in potentially hazardous conditions. If Region 12 schools shut down, we generally will, too. On the rare occasion that this happens, we will post revised shop hours on our homepage, the class calendar, and social media (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter). If this closing will affect a class or workshop, we will contact anyone who has registered once we determine the class will be cancelled; to that end, please be sure to include your phone number (preferably cell phone, as we will text first).
Overbookings: You will receive a full refund for any overbooked classes. We will contact you ASAP once an overbooking is discovered.
