Green Mountain Spinnery is a worker-owned cooperative in Putney, Vermont. Since its founding in 1981, its goals remain unchanged: to create yarns of the highest quality, to help sustain regional sheep farming, and to develop environmentally sound ways to process natural fibers. So you can understand why we are honored to carry their yarn in our little shop!
Weekend Wool is their woolen-spun, 100% American wool sourced from farms in New England and across the US. It blends the soft wools from Rambouillet, Columbia, Targhee, and Friesian sheep with the lustrous fleeces from Corriedale, Montadale, and Romney. The result is a lofty yet durable yarn with fantastic stitch definition.
