Stars Hollow Yarns

Regular price $50.00 Sale

Two sessions: Thursdays, April 25 & May 9, 12pm to 2pm

Combining a very old nineteenth-century lace edging with a contemporary shallow crescent shape, the undulating edge of this simple-to-knit summer shawl suggests waves across a beach or shoreline, for which the Gaelic word is Traigh. This is a great first lace project and will help you learn to read (or brush up on reading) charts as well!

  • Skill Level: Confident/Adventurous Beginner and up. You can knit, purl, cast-on and bind-off.
  • *Supplies needed: Traigh pattern by Kate Davies (included in cost of class). Needles: US5 / 3.75mm (or size needed to obtain gauge). Yarn: 545 yards fingering weight yarn (our sample is knit in 3 skeins of Knit One, Crochet Too Elfin Tweed, Colorway: Moor); 2 locking stitch markers, tapestry needle.
  • Skills learned: Reading charts, lacework, picking up stitches, stretchy bind-off, blocking.
  • Homework: None.
  • Instructor: Laura Eckel

Please note... you only need to sign up for the initial session; our system will automatically enroll you for the full two-session class.

*We appreciate you purchasing yarn at Stars Hollow Yarns and offer a 10% discount on all supplies used for classes.
